Welcome to the first of many "Stuff I bought". "Stuff" referring to comic titles mainly. I thought I'd give some folks an idea of what I'm really enjoying right now and reading on a regular basis. Don't expect this weekly...I hit up the shop once a month if I'm lucky. This will probably round out the month for now.
The Spirit # 9...Another straight to the top book. Cooke and Bone are so fantastic. A+'s to them all around. I'll most likely be leaving the book when they do, although depending on who replaces them I guess I could stick around a bit longer.
Comic Foundry...Well done Tim Leong. It's been ages since I've picked up a good comics magazine that didn't push me away with its pretentiousness or make me roll my eyes at its immaturity. How can I NOT want to read a magazine with two solid interviews of two of my favorite creative folk(Bell, and O'Malley). Their first 20 pages alone were jam packed with so many book recommendations I've never heard of I can't wait to check some of them out. Here's hoping it continues along the path of appealing to both the mainstream geek in me and the indie guy just looking for another good book to read.
Jack of Fables # 13...Fun read as usual. Although I dunno if I'm loving this book yet. I think I may finish this arc out then re-read all of the series thus far and see if it stays on my must buy list.
Green Lantern Corps # 15...I really like this book. It's one of the two regular straight up super hero books I'm reading right now. I'm really interested in seeing where this whole Sinestro War is going. I love this book because of these new characters. I have no pre-expectations of them besides Guy Gardner, and he's been handled really well. I love Soranik Natu, and am fans of Isamot and Vath as well. I have my own ideas about Superman and Batman, but with these new ones I'm excited to see Gibbons really play with them. And me having no real knowledge of cosmic DC makes the exploration and alien races a ton of fun. That said I'm NOT reading Green Lantern to really follow the whole S-War at the moment. I'll checkout the hardcover/trade for the entire story laters.
Astonishing X-Men #22...Meh. Not the greatest this time. I kinda feel like I'm just waiting out the end of Whedons run at the moment but I'm not really loving it anymore. Cassadays art was pretty though.
Good As Lily...last but not least...I haven't gotten to it yet so ask me later. But my expectations are high since I loved
Same Difference so much. I hope this one is just as strong and sweet.
